Hi! I’m margi,
a Senior Art Director based in Sofia, working with brands across Europe. I studied in Germany and spent 12 years at agencies and at a SaaS company, creating campaigns and visual worlds for haircare, beauty, ice cream and spirits brands, and bringing one company’s scattered look together under a single visual language.
What I learned along the way is that the brief is rarely the real question. A request for a few visuals often hides something underneath: a message that reaches the wrong people, or a brand that looks different everywhere it appears. I love finding that root cause, connecting the dots, and shaping them into a visual world where every image belongs together and creates a cohesive story.
What drives me is wanting brands to be visible for the right reasons, so the people they’re for find what they need and feel understood.

atelier MaLKo is just me, and I work directly with you. It is built on the belief that the strongest brands don’t happen overnight. They grow through small, intentional steps, guided by creative clarity, cultural insight, and a deep sense of visual identity.
‘Malko’ means ‘little’ in bulgarian, my mother tongue. For me, it’s a reminder that thoughtful details lead to meaningful impact and that’s how I approach every collaboration.

PASSION project
At 17 I had no idea art direction existed. Ten years later I started a small podcast about art direction, studying creative fields, concepts and techniques, and everything I wish someone had explained to me then. The goal isn’t to have all the answers. It’s to make the path a little clearer for someone else.
